- 1/4 teaspoon clove
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

- 1 tablespoon milk (for the glaze)
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/2 tablespoon orange zest (for that final touch)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cranberry Filling: In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add cranberries, sugar, and juice and zest of 1 orange. Bring to a boil and then simmer until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Make the Dough: Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl, add warm milk, and sprinkle yeast over the mixture. Let it sit for a few minutes. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and zest. Mix in milk mixture and egg. Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Prepare the Orange Filling: Mix softened butter, granulated sugar, zest, and spices until creamy.
- Roll and Bake: Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread orange filling, add cranberry filling, then roll tightly. Cut into slices and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 1 hour, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-30 minutes.
- Make the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, melted butter, milk, and orange juice until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls and add extra zest.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute with plant-based milk and butter. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
