Cranberry Orange Glazed Turkey Breast

Description

A festive dish combining juicy turkey breast with a luscious cranberry orange glaze, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 (3-4 lb) turkey breast, bone-in and skin-on
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, and orange zest; bring to a boil, then simmer for 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst and glaze thickens.
  3. Pat the turkey breast dry and combine olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Gently loosen the skin of the turkey and rub half of the herb mixture beneath the skin, spreading the rest on top.
  5. Place the turkey, skin-side up, in a roasting pan and roast for approximately 20 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Brush the turkey with the glaze every 10 minutes during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  7. Let the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes before carving and serving with remaining glaze.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness. Glaze can be made a day ahead and reheated before serving. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.
