Description
Delicious cake pops that combine creamy white chocolate and fluffy vanilla cake for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 4 tablespoons salted butter (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream (or milk)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 cake pop sticks
- 12 ounces white chocolate (divided into 4 oz and 8 oz portions)
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Bake the cake according to package directions and allow it to cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces using your hands or two forks, creating an airy texture.
- Beat the softened butter with a hand mixer until fluffy—about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add in powdered sugar, mixing well. Pour in heavy cream and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until the mixture reaches a creamy consistency.
- Fold in 3 tablespoons of frosting into the crumbled cake until the mixture holds together.
- Roll 2 tablespoons of cake mixture into balls, or utilize a cake pop press for uniformity.
- Melt 4 oz white chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave for about 45 seconds. Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into the melted chocolate and then into a cake ball.
- Place the cake balls in the freezer for 1 hour or refrigerate for 2 hours to set.
- Melt the remaining 8 oz white chocolate, heating in intervals until melted.
- Dip each cake pop in white chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Roll or sprinkle with decorative sprinkles.
- Set on a lined tray or in a foam box to harden fully in the fridge until ready to serve.
Notes
For a healthier option, substitute refined sugar with natural sweeteners and consider adding flaxseeds.
