Description

Delicious bars featuring layers of cookie dough, creamy peanut butter, and rich chocolate, reminiscent of childhood treats.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the all-purpose flour and salt until just combined, then gently fold in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips.
  4. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan with your fingertips until evenly spread.
  5. Blend the peanut butter and powdered sugar together in another bowl until smooth and creamy; then spread this mixture over the dough layer in the pan.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough on top of the peanut butter layer and sprinkle with additional chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center looks set.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

To elevate flavor, consider using organic, grass-fed butter and high-quality dark chocolate chips.
