- 4 large eggs

- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 5-6 minutes.
- Add each egg one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk, starting and finishing with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped pecans.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 20 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- For the frosting, melt the butter in a saucepan, then stir in brown sugar and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, stirring until smooth. Gradually whisk in powdered sugar.
- Once cakes are cool, frost layers with praline frosting and garnish with chopped pecans.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding cocoa powder or spices like cinnamon. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
