- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the flour mixture. Mix until a rough dough forms.
- Lightly flour your workspace and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
- Mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon, and sprinkle over the buttery layer.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 even slices.
- Place slices in a greased baking dish and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over warm rolls.
