Ingredients

  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until mostly combined.
  4. Combine the melted butter, confectioners’ sugar, honey, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth.
  5. Pour the melted butter mixture into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  6. Place the dough on top, spreading it evenly.
  7. Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the topping and sprinkle over the biscuits.
  8. Cut the unbaked dough into 9 equal squares.
  9. Bake for 28-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to absorb the butter mixture before serving.
