  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (prepared per box directions)
  • Green food coloring (about 10 drops)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 8-ounce tub whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9 x 13-inch baking pans.
  2. Prepare each cake mix according to the box directions, adding 10 drops of green food coloring to the white cake batter.
  3. Pour each batter into the prepared pans and bake for 23-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and whipped topping until smooth.
  5. Crumble both cooled cakes into large chunks, reserving about 1/4 cup of each for later.
  6. In a large trifle bowl, alternate layers of crumbled cake and creamy filling, ensuring each layer is visible.
  7. Sprinkle the reserved cake crumbs on top.
  8. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
