Description

A comforting and indulgent casserole made with layers of crispy hash browns, savory sausage, and melted cheese, perfect for Christmas morning gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1 bag frozen hash browns
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish, layer the hash browns on the bottom, followed by the cooked sausage and shredded cheese.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layers, ensuring an even coat.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until set and golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
