- 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 cup Butter (unsalted, room temperature)
- 12 oz Semi-sweet or Dark Chocolate Chips
- Saltine Crackers (regular-sized)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with foil.
- Place one layer of Saltine crackers in the pan.
- In a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar, heating over medium heat until it comes to a rolling boil. Stir until thick and bubbly (about 3 minutes).
- Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 2 minutes to soften, then spread the melting chocolate.
- Optionally, sprinkle crushed nuts or sea salt on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to cool and set, then break into pieces and enjoy.
