Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth and light (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking pans about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
  9. Let cool on wire racks before enjoying.

Notes
