- ¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup Christmas M&M’s (divided, ½ cup for the dough, ½ cup for topping)
- ¼ cup white chocolate chips (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with both the granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt, then gradually add the flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and ½ cup of the Christmas M&M’s.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan and top with the remaining M&M’s and white chocolate chips.
- Bake for 26-30 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
For best results, ensure the butter is thoroughly softened before mixing.
