Description

Delightful cookies that combine rich chocolate with refreshing orange zest for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.


Ingredients

  • 16 tablespoons (220 grams) salted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup (88 grams) powdered sugar
  • 2 large oranges, zested
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (260 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup (145 grams) chopped dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter, orange zest, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and kosher salt.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until the dough is shaggy.
  5. Fold in the chopped dark chocolate.
  6. Transfer the dough onto plastic wrap, shape into two logs, and chill for at least 2 hours.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Slice the logs into ⅓ inch discs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 13-15 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet.
