Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm bananas
  • 8 popsicle sticks or wooden skewers
  • 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (for smoother chocolate)
  • Toppings (choose 1-2):
  • – 1/2 cup chopped nuts (peanuts, almonds)
  • – 1/4 cup sprinkles
  • – 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • – 1/4 cup crushed pretzels
  • – 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prep bananas: Peel bananas and cut in half crosswise. Insert a stick into each half. Place on parchment-lined tray and freeze for 1 hour.
  2. Melt chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Dip & decorate: Working quickly, dip each frozen banana into chocolate, letting excess drip off. Immediately roll in toppings if using.
  4. Freeze solid: Return to tray and freeze for at least 2 hours until firm.
  5. Serve: Enjoy straight from freezer! For easier biting, let sit at room temp for 2-3 minutes.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas – overly soft ones won’t hold shape well.
  • For dairy-free: Use vegan chocolate chips.
  • Store in an airtight container in freezer for up to 2 weeks.
  • For a protein boost: Mix 1 tbsp peanut butter into melted chocolate.
