Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: Combine warm milk and granulated sugar in a bowl, sprinkle yeast over the top, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Add the foamy yeast mixture and mix well.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour and salt in another bowl, then gradually add it to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn dough onto floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let It Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until well combined.
- Roll Out the Dough: Punch down risen dough and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the Filling: Spread cinnamon filling over the dough and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Roll and Cut: Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
- Place in Baking Dish: Arrange rolls in a greased 9×13 baking dish and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
