Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Whisk together the flour, 1 cup of chocolate chips, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Pour in the buttermilk, and stir gently until mostly combined.
- Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Spread the dough evenly over the melted butter.
- Score the dough into 9 equal squares and top with the remaining chocolate chips.
- Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Let the biscuits rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
