Description

Deliciously moist and flaky biscuits swimming in melted butter, filled with semi-sweet chocolate goodness.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, 1 cup of chocolate chips, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Pour in the buttermilk, and stir gently until mostly combined.
  4. Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  5. Spread the dough evenly over the melted butter.
  6. Score the dough into 9 equal squares and top with the remaining chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  8. Let the biscuits rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
