- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g natural cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 115 g unsalted butter, softened
- 100 g brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 30 g granulated sugar
- 30 g sprinkles (optional)
- 30 g powdered sugar (optional)
- 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and pale; add brown sugar and beat until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until combined.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture while mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Scoop the dough and roll it into balls.
- Roll each dough ball in granulated sugar, sprinkles, or powdered sugar if desired.
- Place the rolled balls on the prepared baking sheet with 1 inch between each cookie and bake for 7-8 minutes.
- While the cookies are still warm, press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute coconut oil for butter. To avoid burnt bottoms, watch the baking time closely.
