Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Optional: splash of heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets and sauté 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in orzo, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 10-12 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  8. Optional: add splash of cream for richness.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
