- 4 medium chicken breasts
- Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper
- 1 24-ounce jar marinara sauce
- ⅓ cup sliced fresh basil
- 8 ounces cherry tomatoes (cut into halves)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (packed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Drizzle olive oil over the chicken breasts and season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, combine the marinara sauce and sliced basil.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts on top of the marinara mixture and arrange cherry tomatoes around them.
- Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, until the internal temperature of the chicken registers 165 degrees F.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top, and broil for 2-3 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Can be made ahead and baked later.
