Description

A healthier twist on traditional meatloaf made with lean ground chicken, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground chicken
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (traditional or whole-grain)
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the lean ground chicken, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, milk, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Mix well using your hands until everything is well combined, but do not overmix.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a crispy top, broil the meatloaf for the last 3-5 minutes of cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
