Instructions
- Sift the cocoa powder in a bowl to remove any lumps.
- Layer the ingredients in a jar in this order: flour, sifted cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and white chocolate chips.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cooled melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
- Pour the jar contents into a mixing bowl, make a well in the center, add the wet ingredients, and mix gently.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of cookie dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers feel soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
For ultimate chewiness, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. They store well in an airtight container for a week or freeze for three months.
