Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped cherries and sliced almonds.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
