Description

A hearty and delicious one-pot dish that combines the classic flavors of a cheeseburger with the creamy comfort of orzo pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped pickles and tomatoes for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for another 3-5 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the orzo, beef broth, ketchup, and mustard until well mixed.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then garnish and serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Customize with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative if desired.
