Description

A unique pizza combining the sweetness of caramelized pears with savory prosciutto and tangy blue cheese, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pizza crust
  • 2 ripe pears, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup fontina cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 4 oz prosciutto, sliced
  • 1 shallot, thinly sliced
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling
  • Olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced pears and brown sugar. Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Roll out the whole wheat pizza crust on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  4. Spread the caramelized pears over the crust.
  5. Sprinkle shredded fontina cheese and crumbled blue cheese over the pears.
  6. Layer sliced prosciutto and shallots evenly on top.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before slicing.

Notes

For a crispier crust, pre-bake the crust for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
