Description
A delicious twist on classic lemonade, combining fresh blueberries and zesty lemons for a refreshing summer drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (148 g) blueberries, fresh or unsweetened frozen
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar, or to taste
- 4 cups cold water, divided
- 4–5 large lemons, freshly squeezed (about 1 cup juice)
- Crushed ice, for serving
- Lemon slices, for garnish
- Blueberries, for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the blueberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and blueberries burst, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the blueberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a medium bowl. Press down on solids to extract liquid and let it cool in the fridge.
- Mix the lemon juice with the chilled blueberry syrup and remaining 3 cups of cold water in a large pitcher.
- Serve over crushed ice, garnished with lemon slices and blueberries.
Notes
Store in the fridge for up to 3-5 days. For a sparkling twist, replace some water with soda water.
