- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups blueberries
- 2 loaves French bread, cubed
- 2 cups milk
- 8 large eggs
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gently fold in 1 cup blueberries with 1 tbsp lemon juice and lemon zest.
- Layer half of the cubed French bread in a greased casserole dish.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the bread, then top with the remaining bread cubes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice and zest.
- Pour the custard over the bread, pressing down gently. Scatter remaining blueberries on top.
- Cover tightly with foil and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake covered for 45 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden and set.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing. Adjust sugar levels to taste.
