Ingredients
Scale
- 1 round of brie cheese
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1/2 cup of raspberry or cranberry sauce
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon of flour (for dusting)
- Edible blood (additional sauce for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thick.
- Place the brie in the center and spread the raspberry or cranberry sauce on top.
- Fold the pastry over the brie, sealing the edges.
- Brush the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly, then drizzle with additional sauce before serving.
- Serve warm with crackers or sliced bread.
Notes
Timing is essential! Keep an eye on the pastry as it bakes; you want that perfect golden brown without burning. Mistakes often happen; if your pastry splits, use excess pastry to patch the holes.
