Description

  • Chocolate Pudding (instant or from scratch)
  • Fresh or Canned Cherries
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chocolate Shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake according to package or recipe instructions. Let cool.
  2. Layering: Break the cooled chocolate cake into bite-sized pieces and layer at the bottom of a large trifle bowl.
  3. Add Chocolate Pudding: Pour a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake.
  4. Layer of Cherries: Add a layer of cherries, pitting and halving fresh ones if using.
  5. Repeat Layers: Continue layering cake, pudding, and cherries until ingredients are used up, leaving some whipped cream for the top.
  6. Finish with Whipped Cream: Spread whipped cream evenly over the top layer.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle chocolate shavings and add extra cherries for presentation.
  8. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
