Ingredients
- Chocolate Cake (store-bought or homemade)
- Chocolate Pudding (instant or from scratch)
- Fresh or Canned Cherries
- Whipped Cream
- Chocolate Shavings (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chocolate Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake according to package or recipe instructions. Let cool.
- Layering: Break the cooled chocolate cake into bite-sized pieces and layer at the bottom of a large trifle bowl.
- Add Chocolate Pudding: Pour a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake.
- Layer of Cherries: Add a layer of cherries, pitting and halving fresh ones if using.
- Repeat Layers: Continue layering cake, pudding, and cherries until ingredients are used up, leaving some whipped cream for the top.
- Finish with Whipped Cream: Spread whipped cream evenly over the top layer.
- Garnish: Sprinkle chocolate shavings and add extra cherries for presentation.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
