- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chopped dark cherries (fresh or frozen, thawed)
- Dark chocolate shavings (for topping)
- Extra cherries (for topping)
- Cherry syrup or honey (for drizzling on top)
Instructions
- Combine the dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix the rolled oats, cocoa powder, and chia seeds.
- Add the liquid: Pour in the milk and stir until smooth.
- Mix in the creamy goodness: Add Greek yogurt, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Layer to perfection: Spoon half of the mixture into a jar, sprinkle with chopped cherries, and top with the remaining oatmeal mix.
- Chill overnight: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Add the finishing touches: Before serving, top with dark chocolate shavings, extra cherries, and drizzle with cherry syrup or honey.
Notes
These overnight oats can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For optimal cherry freshness, add fresh cherries just before serving.
