Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mash the bananas in a bowl and stir in the lemon juice.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt; whisk until blended.
  3. Gradually whisk in the whole milk until smooth.
  4. Add the egg yolks and banana mixture; combine thoroughly.
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 7-10 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla. Add optional cream and spices if desired.
  7. Pour into a bowl, cover with plastic wrap touching the surface, and chill for 1-2 hours before use.
