Irresistibly crunchy Baked Jicama Fries with a tender, subtly sweet interior, perfect for a guilt-free snack.

- 1 large jicama (about 1.5 pounds)
- 2 Tbsp avocado oil
- 1 Tbsp tapioca starch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Flaked sea salt (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Peel your jicama and cut it into fry shapes.
- Carefully place the fries in the boiling water and let them cook for 10 minutes.
- Remove the fries using a slotted spoon or strainer. Place them on a towel and gently pat dry.
- Transfer the fries to a large mixing bowl and drizzle with avocado oil. Toss well.
- In a small bowl, mix tapioca starch, paprika, basil, cumin, garlic, and salt. Pour over the fries and toss until evenly coated.
- Arrange the fries in a single layer on a lined baking sheet, making sure they don’t overlap. Bake for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, flip the fries and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
- Once golden and crispy, remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaked sea salt before serving.
