Instructions
- Prep the Baking Dish: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Tear the Bread: Tear the challah or brioche into bite-sized pieces and evenly distribute them in the dish.
- Make the Custard: Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Soak the Bread: Pour the custard mixture over the bread pieces, pressing down gently to immerse the floating pieces.
- Refrigerate: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat Your Oven: On baking day, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Create the Streusel: Mix melted butter with brown sugar and flour to make a crumbly topping.
- Top and Bake: Sprinkle streusel over the soaked bread and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
