Description

A cozy and comforting dish featuring fluffy baked eggs on a bed of sautéed spinach, topped with creamy cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (such as parsley or chives)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted (about 2-3 minutes), gently stirring and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the sautéed spinach evenly in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the cream over the spinach, making sure it’s evenly distributed, then create four wells in the mixture.
  6. Crack an egg into each well.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese generously over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, checking around the 15-minute mark.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. You can prepare the spinach and cream mixture ahead of time.
