Description

A gourmet appetizer featuring creamy brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry, topped with figs, prosciutto, and honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (e.g., Delice de Bourgogne)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
  • 34 figs (fresh or dried)
  • Honey (to taste)
  • 56 slices of prosciutto
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  3. Place the wheel of brie in the center of the pastry.
  4. Top the brie with sliced figs and drizzle generously with honey.
  5. Wrap the puff pastry around the brie, sealing it well and trimming any excess pastry.
  6. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
  7. Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle fresh rosemary or thyme on top of the figs before wrapping. Baked brie is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
