Description
Delightful twist on classic deviled eggs, topped with homemade bacon jam for a smoky, sweet flavor explosion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 4 slices of thick-cut bacon
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Boil the eggs: Place eggs in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes.
- Make the bacon jam: In a medium skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain. In the same pan, add onions and cook until translucent. Stir in brown sugar and balsamic vinegar, simmer until thick. Chop the bacon and mix back in.
- Prepare the filling: Peel eggs and cut in half. Scoop out yolks, mash with mayo, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Assemble the eggs: Spoon yolk mixture back into egg whites. Top with bacon jam.
- Chill & serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance flavors.
Notes
For best flavor, let the deviled eggs come to room temperature for about 20 minutes after chilling.
