- 2 large banana peels
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or agave syrup)
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil
Instructions
- Wash the banana peels thoroughly under cool running water and scrape out the white pith. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide.
- Marinate the peel strips in a mixture of soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder for at least 15-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and heat neutral oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the banana peel strips for 2-3 minutes on each side until they start to crisp up.
- Bake the banana peels on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
