  • Author: ranime
  • Total Time: 2 hours (includes resting)
  • Yield: 15-18 macarons 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Adorable French macarons shaped and decorated like Baby Yoda (The Child) from The Mandalorian. These delicate almond cookies have a crisp shell and chewy interior, filled with a creamy matcha or mint chocolate ganache for a character-inspired treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For Macaron Shells:
  • 1¾ cups (210g) powdered sugar
  • 1 cup (110g) almond flour
  • 3 large egg whites (100g), room temperature
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring (moss + leaf green)
  • Brown gel food coloring
  • For Filling:
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp matcha powder OR ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • For Decorating:
  • Black edible marker
  • Brown food coloring mixed with vodka (for painting)
  • Sliced almonds (for ears)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Batter: Sift together powdered sugar and almond flour. Beat egg whites to soft peaks, gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in dry ingredients in 3 additions until lava-like consistency. Divide batter: ¾ green (mix of moss and leaf green), ¼ brown.
  2. Pipe Shapes: Transfer green batter to piping bag with round tip. Pipe 1.5″ circles on parchment, then pipe small pointed ears. Use brown batter to pipe small oval “hoods” at the top of each circle. Tap pans firmly to release air bubbles.
  3. Rest & Bake: Let sit 30-60 minutes until dry to touch. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 15-18 minutes, rotating halfway. Cool completely.
  4. Make Filling: Heat cream until steaming, pour over white chocolate. Let sit 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Add matcha or peppermint. Chill until thickened.
  5. Decorate & Assemble: Use edible marker to draw eyes. Paint brown details with food coloring. Pipe filling onto bottom shells, attach top shells. Insert sliced almonds for ears.

  • For accurate shapes, place a template under parchment while piping
