A quick and delicious garlic butter Ahi tuna recipe that takes just five minutes to prepare, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 2 Ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each, 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Carefully place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side for rare or 2-3 minutes for medium-rare.
  4. Remove the tuna from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and add butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt before adding the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice.
  7. Return the tuna steaks to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over the top, coating both sides.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For best results, let the butter sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Avoid crowding the pan to achieve the perfect sear.
