Description

A delightful side dish of tender-crisp green beans tossed in buttery, toasted almonds and a hint of lemon, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans (washed and trimmed)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds
  • 23 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ lemon (juice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add the washed and trimmed green beans and cook for 3-6 minutes until desired tenderness.
  2. Drain the beans in a colander and quickly transfer them into a bowl of cold ice water. Drain again, ensuring no excess water remains.
  3. In a large sauté pan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced almonds and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add minced garlic to the same pan and stir until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Then add the green beans back in and sauté for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Add toasted almonds back into the pan, squeeze in lemon juice, stir to combine, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcook the green beans; they should maintain their delicious crunch!
