Description
A delightful side dish of tender-crisp green beans tossed in buttery, toasted almonds and a hint of lemon, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans (washed and trimmed)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- ¼ cup sliced almonds
- 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ lemon (juice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add the washed and trimmed green beans and cook for 3-6 minutes until desired tenderness.
- Drain the beans in a colander and quickly transfer them into a bowl of cold ice water. Drain again, ensuring no excess water remains.
- In a large sauté pan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced almonds and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the same pan and stir until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Then add the green beans back in and sauté for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Add toasted almonds back into the pan, squeeze in lemon juice, stir to combine, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
Notes
Don’t overcook the green beans; they should maintain their delicious crunch!
