Description

A delightful take on classic hand pies, these air fryer versions offer a crispy, golden crust filled with savory meat, cheese, and spices. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a cozy gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, minced (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon hamburger seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (8-count) Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup minced pickles (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Ketchup, for serving
  • Mustard, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet, cook ground beef, onion, hamburger seasoning, seasoned salt, and pepper over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. Remove biscuits from can and roll to 5-6 inches in diameter.
  3. Distribute ground beef mixture and cheese on one half of each biscuit, top with pickles if using.
  4. Brush edges with water, fold over and seal with a fork.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  6. Brush each pie with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Air fry for 4 minutes, turn pies, and cook for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve hot with ketchup and mustard.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer. You can also freeze unbaked hand pies for later use.
