A delightful take on classic hand pies, these air fryer versions offer a crispy, golden crust filled with savory meat, cheese, and spices. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a cozy gathering.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, minced (about 1/2 cup)
- 1 tablespoon hamburger seasoning
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 can (8-count) Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup minced pickles (optional)
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Ketchup, for serving
- Mustard, for serving
Instructions
- In a medium skillet, cook ground beef, onion, hamburger seasoning, seasoned salt, and pepper over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
- Remove biscuits from can and roll to 5-6 inches in diameter.
- Distribute ground beef mixture and cheese on one half of each biscuit, top with pickles if using.
- Brush edges with water, fold over and seal with a fork.
- Preheat air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
- Brush each pie with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Air fry for 4 minutes, turn pies, and cook for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve hot with ketchup and mustard.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer. You can also freeze unbaked hand pies for later use.
