Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a cupcake pan with liners.
- Cream butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- If desired, add a few drops of pink food coloring and fold it in gently.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.
- Pipe the rose-flavored frosting onto cooled cupcakes and garnish with edible rose petals.
