- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water

Instructions
- Combine water and sugar in saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Add cranberries and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
- Stir in optional spices if using.
- Remove from heat and cool 15 minutes.
- Transfer to serving dish and refrigerate at least 2 hours until set.
- Serve chilled.

- Sauce will thicken further as it cools and sets.
