Description

A classic sweet jellied cranberry sauce made from fresh cranberries, sugar, and warm spices. This vibrant, tangy-sweet sauce sets to a perfect gel-like consistency, making it an essential holiday condiment.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add cranberries and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
  4. Stir in optional spices if using.
  5. Remove from heat and cool 15 minutes.
  6. Transfer to serving dish and refrigerate at least 2 hours until set.
