Description
A quick and flavorful Asian-inspired dish featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a sweet and savory garlic sauce, served over chewy noodles and garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 8 oz noodles (egg or rice noodles)
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, ginger, and chili flakes to make the sauce. Set aside.
- Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- While the sauce thickens, cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, simmer longer or add a cornstarch slurry (1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water).
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce and gluten-free noodles.
- Adjust the amount of chili flakes to control the spice level.
