Description
Chewy, buttery cookie bars packed with chocolate chips and colorful Reese’s Pieces candies – a fun twist on classic chocolate chip bars that’s perfect for parties and potlucks!
Ingredients
1 box Yellow Cake Mix
½ cup Melted Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 large Eggs
2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: Ghirardelli
1 small box Reece’s Pieces Candies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Whisk flour, baking soda and salt in separate bowl. Gradually add to wet ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips and 1 1/2 cups Reese’s Pieces (dough will be thick).
- Press evenly into prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining candies over top, pressing lightly.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown (center will seem slightly underdone).
- Cool completely in pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For extra peanut flavor, add 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
- Can substitute M&Ms for Reese’s Pieces
- Bars will firm up as they cool – don’t overbake
- Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days
