Description

A creamy, spiced pumpkin eggnog that blends traditional eggnog richness with warm pumpkin pie flavors. This luxurious drink features velvety custard, real pumpkin puree, and autumnal spices, perfect for sipping by the fire during cooler months.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger and 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)
  • Whipped cream for garnish
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until pale and thick.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk, cream, pumpkin, spices, and salt until steaming (do not boil).
  3. Slowly pour hot mixture into eggs while whisking constantly.
  4. Return to saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture coats the back of a spoon (175°F).
  5. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve. Stir in vanilla and alcohol (if using).
  6. Chill at least 4 hours. Serve cold with whipped cream and nutmeg.

Notes

  • For safety: Use pasteurized eggs if concerned about raw yolks
