Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm milk for 5-10 minutes until foamy
- Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and pumpkin spice
- Add pumpkin puree, egg, butter, and yeast mixture to dry ingredients
- Knead dough for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size
- Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with donut cutter
- Fry donuts in 350°F oil for 1-2 minutes per side until golden
- Coat hot donuts in cinnamon sugar mixture
- For filling: beat cream cheese, pumpkin, spices, and powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in whipped cream
- Pipe filling into cooled donuts if desired
