Description

A homemade take on Olive Garden’s classic, these Jumbo Stuffed Shells are filled with creamy ricotta and gooey mozzarella, smothered in marinara sauce, making for a comforting and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until creamy.
  4. Fill each shell with the cheese mixture.
  5. Place the stuffed shells in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Pour marinara sauce over the shells and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For best results, let your ricotta and egg warm to room temperature before mixing.
