Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in large bowl.
  2. Mix warmed milk, melted butter, and eggs in separate bowl.
  3. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing until dough forms.
  4. Knead dough 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1-2 hours until doubled.
  6. Punch down dough and roll into 12×18 inch rectangle.
  7. Spread Nutella evenly over dough, leaving border.
  8. Roll tightly into log, slice lengthwise, and twist two pieces together.
  9. Place in greased loaf pan, cover, and rise 30-45 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake 30-35 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 190°F.
  12. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

  • Do not overheat milk – it should be warm but not hot to avoid killing yeast.
  • Let bread cool completely before slicing for clean cuts.
