  • 1 tsp (5g) red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil (divided)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese, cut into small squares
  • ½ cup (120g) hot or mild giardiniera, drained and chopped
  • ¼ cup (15g) fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slow-cook beef: Season beef with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. In a slow cooker, combine beef, broth, wine (if using), half the garlic, and red pepper flakes. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until fork-tender. Shred with two forks.
  2. Toast crostini: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush baguette slices with 1 tbsp olive oil and remaining garlic. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  3. Assemble: Top each crostini with shredded beef, a square of provolone, and a pinch of giardiniera. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
